The Transitions Project

Community Wellbeing events showcasing local services and offering money and debt advice.

West Devon CVS is proud to be a partner in the Transitions project, a money and debt advice service working across rural areas of West Devon and Torridge. Financed by the Big Lottery Fund, the project draws on the range of experience and expertise providing a range of free services and ensuring clients receive accessible, consistent and holistic services.

As partners in the Transitions project, West Devon CVS hosts regular Community Wellbeing events showcasing the free, independent, and confidential services which local residents can access when looking for financial advice, as well as local community and voluntary sector services. Specifically, some of the services offered at these events focus on:

  • Money/debt advice
  • Welfare benefits
  • Housing and Homelessness
  • Fuel poverty
  • Budgeting and financial literacy
  • Income maximisation
  • Form filling
  • Advocacy
  • Referral/signposting
  • Volunteering opportunities

Additionally, the Transitions project offers appointment-based and drop-in surgeries from local venues, as well as home visiting services for people who are unable to access these services due to poor health, disability, rural remoteness or poor transport links.

If you or someone you know lives in West Devon or Torridge and needs help with money and debt advice, but cannot access mainstream services due to their location, carer responsibilities, physical or mental health, please contact the Wis£rmoney team by emailing enquiries@wisermoney.org.uk or calling 01823 299050. If you are an organisation that would like to showcase their services at our community events please email info@westdevoncvs.org.uk.
